Peter Varga uses fine and archaic plasters to create large-scale freestanding art works.
The common drive behind Peter Varga’s work is twofold: to learn and constantly defy the material limitations of plaster through new and historically unprecedented applications, and to use these materials to elicit unique emotional experiences based on the viewer’s own associations and lived experiences. Peter uses the many textures, applications, and finishes of plaster to transmit esoteric stories onto a visual canvas.
Peter works out of his studio in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He is currently showing work in LA, San Francisco, Palm Springs, Manhattan, and has shipped pieces to private art collectors as far as Hawaii and Hungary.
